26-July-08  Steve & Chris have just got back from a visit to Cairns and the Daintree in Far North Queensland.  They stayed for a while at Cape Tribulation and were truly inspired by this beautiful part of Australia where 2 world heritage areas meet - the rain forest and the Great Barrier reef. But they now know why its called the Rain Forest having seen more rain in 11 days than here in Perth in 6 months!
9-June-08  We have just got in from the opening of the Canning Art Award and both had works "Highly Commended" by the panel of judges.
8-June-08  Chris finished the violin that she was asked to decorate for Perth Modern School's "ArtStrings" Exhibition and Auction. It's sort of mixed media ...
3-June-08  Chris discovered that while she and Steve were away for a few days she had picked up the award of excellence in Mixed Media at Alfred Cove Art Society's 9th Annual Awards of Excellence exhibition for her image "Beaches, Boats & Blue II" shown above.
2-June-08  Steve and Chris are just back from a few days in Augusta on the South-West tip of Western Australia (Cape Leeuwin).  On the way we dropped off artworks at the Pinjarra Art Exhibition and the Margaret River Art Show. Chris won her category at Pinjarra.
1-April-08  Chris Marshall has just finished 2 new artworks for the Arthritis Foundation of WA's 30th Annual Art Exhibition on over next weekend. Click here for more details.
1-April-08  Chris Marshall now has some work on display (and for sale of course!) at the Bada Bing Cafe in Woodlands on Nathan's newly painted red wall. Click here for more info ....

5-March-08  We have just got back from an inspiring few days in Denmark on the South Coast of Western Australia.
29-December-07 Well the new Perth to Mandurah railway opened last Sunday (Dec 23, 2007) while we were away but we have been to Mandurah twice in the last 2 days! It's fantastic and it is now easier to get on the train and go to Mandurah for fish and chips than it is to drive to Fremantle and spend ages looking for a parking spot!

and now Chris is working on some ideas for one of her digital artworks.....

28-December-07 Chris and Steve have just had a lovely peaceful few days down in the Stirling Ranges and Porongurups in the Great Southern area of Western Australia. We both took heaps of photos and Chris was able to squeeze in a fair bit of art.

Well, we'd heard that the weather could be changeable but we ended up wearing clothes from thick jumpers and ugg boots for the first few days through to bathers on Xmas Day and Boxing Day as the temperature varied from low teens to over 40 celsius!

22-November-07 - Chris Marshall committed to the European section of the Webism touring exhibition "Climate Change - the Impact" which will kick-off in Mainz, Germany.
20-November-07 - Chris and Steve are just home from Broome in the Kimberley (North of Western Australia).  The weather was pretty hot and humid but we were able to "slip into Broome time" quite easily and had a lovely relaxing time. We took heaps of photos and did some painting - its such an inspirational place.
2-November-07 - Chris Marshall and Debra Scidone are Artists-in-Residence at the Canning Show on November 2 and 3. Debra will be demonstrating watercolours and pastels and Chris will be demonstrating mixed media. They both have a few paintings on display as well several in progress. 29-October-07 - Steve and Chris Marshall are just back from a few days in the Goldfields of Western Australia where they were privileged to be invited to judge the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder Art Prize. The art show, at the Boulder Town Hall had 283 entries, about 180 from the region with the rest from Perth and around the state. Congratulations to the Golden Mile Art Group and to curator Ani Ross for doing such a great job presenting the exhibition. Chris also enjoyed running a short workshop "Sense of Place" at the same venue.
27-October-07  Tonight is the opening of "Gerhard Hoberth and Webism - A Global Movement" at the Ganserhaus in Wasserburg am Inn (Germany). Chris Marshall has 3 images in the exhibition. Click here for more info about the exhibition and here to see Chris's images.
14-October-07 - Chris Marshall will facilitate a short workshop in Kalgoorlie-Boulder on Saturday October 27 from 1-4pm. Click here for flyer.
8-October-07 - Chris Marshall's image "Shared Use" was highly commended in the City of South Perth Art Award, 2007. The exhibition continues until November 4 at Heritage House Cultural Centre on the corner of Mill Point Road and Mends Street, South Perth. Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 10 to 4 and 1 to 4 at weekends.
29-September-07 - Chris Marshall just sent 3 digital images to Wasserburg am Inn in Germany for an exhibition, "Webism - A Global Movement".
27-September-07 - We've just been to the opening of the ANZANG Photographer of the Year Exhibition at the Western Australian Museum - it's a stunning exhibition (Steve was highly commended in 2 categories). The exhibition will be on in the city until October 28 and will then tour. A book has also been published with over 100 photos of winners, runners-up and highly commended entries. 5-September-07 - Chris Marshall sent her image "Where the Children Play" to the Los Angeles Centre for Digital Art for their annual "Snap to Grid" Exhibition
24-August-07 - Steve's composite image "Stories in the Sand" won the Photography category at the 2007 City of Melville Art Awards.  The work was purchased as well.  The images in the matrix were all taken in Broome, either on Cable Beach or the beach near the port. The judge's comments were "Random acts of nature captured with sensitivity as a concise visual document"
24-August-07 - Opening night of the Webist exhibition, 'Climate Change - The Impact" at the Lost Dog in Durango Colorado - thanks to Parys St Martin for all her hard work on our behalf. Click here for a slideshow of images from the exhibition
17-August-07 - Chris's image "Ningaloo IV" picked up an award for Interesting or Unusual Design/Composition  at the Melville Community Arts Association Awards Exhibition. The judge's comments were "Intriguing and evocative"

15-August-07  Parys St Martin sent the invitation  for the "Climate Change - The Impact" exhibition which opens at the Lost Dog in Durango, Colorado on August 24 Chris is one of 22 artists exhibiting from around the globe. The exhibition continues until September 13

29-July-07 Chris Marshall sent her image, Shrinking Wetlands to Parys St Martin in Durango Colorado for her Webism real-life show on the impact of Climate Change. The original project was initiated by Rainer Grassmuck in Wuppertal Germany
5-June-07 We've just got in from the Canning Art Award presentation. Steve Marshall won the photography section and Chris sold one of her entries.
4-June-07 We arrived home late tonight after a delightful few days in Kalbarri, about 590kms North of Perth at the mouth of the Murchison River - we'll post some photos soon.
1-June-07 Chris Marshall won the mixed media section of the Alfred Cove Art Society's 8th Annual Awards of Excellence.
30-May-07 Chris Marshall received an email from Avisen-Avk to say that she is the 3rd prize winner in Mixed Media in their International Art Contest, 2007
18-May-07 Chris Marshall was notified that she has won the Abstract section of the 38th Harvey Art Prize with her mixed media painting Surf, Sand & Sea
8-May-07 Chris Marshall entered her image Shrinking Wetlands into Festimage in Chaves, Portugal. 13-May-07 She received notification that it was accepted into the contest.

24-Apr-07   Chris Marshall sent 2 images, Where the Children Play I and II to Pygoya in Hawaii for his Webist project "Living with Grafitti"
13-Apr-07 Two of Chris Marshall's artworks have been selected by members of the West Australian Floral Art Society to be the subject of interpretation in the Art Fusion section of their 55th birthday celebrations. The images are the mixed media piece Yunderup (selected by Claire Robins) and the digital artwork Nano-Cyclops V (selected by Kay Robinson).  Chris is intrigued and excited to see how Claire and Kay will interpret her artworks; to find out, come along to Heathcote on June 9 and 10.
5-Apr-07 Chris Marshall sent 3 of her images from the international NanoArt 2006 Competition   to Finland for an exhibition at the Kotka Photographic Centre with Cris Orfescu and several of the other nano-artists. The 3 images on display from May 4 to 27 will be 100 x 70cm, personally signed,  numbered and dated in a collector's edition of 100 - they are Nano-Cyclops V, Nano-Beach and Nano-Twirl

4-Apr-07 The 10 winners of the international NanoArt 2006 Competition  were announced today by Cris Orfescu in Los Angeles; Chris Marshall was one of them. You can see the list of winners here (click on each name to see artworks)
28-Mar-07 Chris Marshall sent 2 images, Shrinking Wetlands and Extremes (Weather) to Rainer Grassmuck in Germany for his Webism project on the impact of Climate Change. 1-Apr-07 Click here to see the project work of 26 artists from 16 countries.
19-Mar-07 YAY it's finished! We, Exponential Expressions (Chris Marshall and Debra Scidone) said we would do a collaborative artwork for the Mandjar Art Award in 2007 and we did - Deb delivered our mixed media canvas "Mandjar Blues" to the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre today. The exhibition opens on March 24 and continues until April 9.
13-Mar-07 Chris Marshall received the following invitation from Cris Orfescu in Los Angeles.

"Hello nanoartists,

I have been invited for a show in Finland, in  a nice  Finnish photographic gallery (they claim is one of the best). ...I think it may be a good opportunity to have a NanoArt show together. I would like to share the space with you  (they offer me  a solo show), and to have a nice brick and mortar gallery NanoArt exhibit. Date:s May 4 - May 27. If you need printing please let me know...."
